Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How will tuition help my child?
The one-to-one attention of a tutor means that your child can learn much more rapidly than in a traditional classroom environment. I can quickly pinpoint weaknesses and gaps in knowledge and start tackling them efficiently in a way that simply cannot be done in a class of thirty students. Students get much more personalised feedback that helps them to make real progress in exams, with many students seeing progress of two grades or more with timely interventions.

Which subjects do you offer?
Mathematics, English, French, Spanish and Economics, as well as university preparation support such as entrance exam preparation, interview preparation and personal statement support.

How does tuition take place?
Tuition takes place on Zoom. I have a fully licenced account, and students find lessons interactive and fun.

How often should tuition take place?
It depends on each student's needs. For those who need an extra boost for GCSEs and A Levels, one hour a week is usually fine, with some extra sessions as exams approach.

How do I pay for tuition?
Payment takes place by bank transfer within 24 hours of a session taking place. Persistent late payment will result in the engagement coming to an end. Cancellations are free with 24 hours notice; otherwise, they are fully chargeable.

Can you guarantee me a certain grade?
Although most students see enormous improvements in their grades after beginning tuition, I cannot guarantee a certain grade. Any teacher or tutor who tells you that they can is, frankly, lying. Tutoring is one important factor among many others, such as teaching at school, the student's natural aptitude, the student's work ethic, and performance in the stressful conditions of exams.
